About this opportunity:

With over four years as an established Ericsson Production Site in the US, we are looking to hire a Final Assembly (FA) Area Manager to lead FA and Test operations as we build some of the most sophisticated radios and basebands on the planet. This is the equipment that makes the 5G connection on your phone possible.  

Key aspects of the role include leading continuous improvement efforts in collaboration with the broader factory organization, building strong teams, communicating clearly across a 24x7 workforce and to upper management, and promoting a strong safety culture on the production floor. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the entire FA organization and will directly manage all FA Shift Supervisors.

 

What you will do:

Lead recruiting efforts and interviews for all new FA Operators, Team Leads, and Supervisors according to headcount dimensioningServe as a primary culture driver and role model highlighting Ericsson’s Values and 5 Focus AreasWork with FA Technical Trainers to coordinate overall training and development efforts ensuring readiness of shifts to meet production goalsDevelop leadership and management skills of FA Team Leads and Supervisors Maintain contact and facilitate communication between all FA Shift Supervisors on current plans, targets, ways of working, and corporate communicationManage communication at line manager and leadership team level highlighting progress toward production goals, risks observed, and support neededDeliver weekly Production Performance Review meetings in collaboration with Production Performance Leaders and Shift Supervisors to review metrics and ensure alignment on best practices across shiftsCoordinate with Production Planning to establish weekly production plan needed to meet customer demand and balance work across all shiftsApply Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other improvement methodologies in collaboration with Production Performance Leaders, Engineering, Quality and other groupsPrepare employees in your area for and follow through on actions arising from various auditsDrive adherence to 5S programs to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient workplacePromote, understand, enforce, and strictly adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines without deviation

 

The skills you bring:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role Strong people leadership and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to execute strategies through people across different times and/or physical locationsExperience promoting safety throughout the workplacePositive conflict resolution and change management skillsAbility to work effectively in a highly diverse, fast-paced, and constantly evolving work environment The motivation to learn and constantly improve people, processes, and toolsExperience in a production facility; especially in electronics or telecommunications manufacturingKnowledge of Lean ManufacturingKnowledge of Six SigmaSolid understanding of applying 5S principles within a production environmentFamiliarity with ISO certification standards and process, especially 9001, 14001, 27001, and 45001

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Those with additional vacation time at the end of the year may sell one week of vacation, equal to a week of pay.
