The **Final Line Mechanic** plays a key role in the assembly and installation of aircraft parts and components, ensuring that all installations meet strict quality standards and operational requirements. In this team-oriented position, you will work on the final assembly of aircraft, performing tasks such as installing parts, cables, systems, and more, while ensuring conformance to specifications. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
**Work Environment:**
+ Work is typically performed in an aircraft assembly environment.
+ Frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
+ Compliance with safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Essential Functions:**
1. **Assembly and Installation:**
2. Assemble, install, and adjust various aircraft structure parts and system components, including control cables, linkages, landing gear, engines, aircraft entry doors, and related hardware.
3. Rig control cables, sectors, linkages, control surfaces, and other critical components as per operational specifications.
4. **Basic Repairs:**
5. Remove and replace system linkages, components, cut and fit system lines, and hardware to facilitate and perform basic repairs on aircraft systems and structures.
6. **Quality Control:**
7. Ensure the quality and efficiency of all installations by meeting all required specifications.
8. Perform rework as necessary to guarantee compliance with conformity standards.
9. **System Installations:**
10. Install system lines, valves, ducts, and related components to ensure a leak-free system.
11. Use a variety of hand tools and equipment to complete installations and component work, including permaswage pumps, dies, and line cutting tools.
12. **Inspection and Conformance:**
13. Inspect and check the installations before final inspection to ensure defect-free work and compliance with operational requirements.
14. **Log and Record Maintenance:**
15. Maintain and update logs and records, including MIR sheets, DMTs, PCOs, etc., ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
16. **Safety and Housekeeping:**
17. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, adhering to the company’s FOD (Foreign Object Damage) and 5S programs.
18. Comply with all safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
19. **Continuous Improvement:**
20. Support continuous improvement initiatives as assigned to enhance processes, quality, and efficiency.
**Additional Functions:**
1. **Flight Testing:**
2. Participate in aircraft certification and final phase testing, including flight tests, when required.
3. **Other Duties:**
4. Perform additional duties as required to support the final assembly process.
**Requirements:**
+ **Education:** High School Diploma or GED is required.
+ **Experience:**
+ Minimum 1 year of aerospace/aviation experience or equivalent mechanical experience (e.g., auto mechanics, heavy equipment).
+ An A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) license may substitute for the required experience.
+ **Skills:**
+ Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints, schematic diagrams, and technical manuals.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform tasks such as drilling, reaming, and ship fitting parts.
+ Experience with a variety of tools and equipment, including line cutting tools, wrenches, and checking tools.
+ Solumina and Smarteam experience preferred.
+ Ability to work in small-space restricted areas (e.g., fuel cells with 11x20 openings in the bottom of the wing).
+ **Physical Requirements:**
+ Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Capable of working in confined spaces such as the fuel cell area.
**Other Requirements:**
+ Must be comfortable working in confined spaces as required, such as in fuel cells and other restricted areas.
+ Must adhere to all safety protocols and company standards.
**Pay Details:** $25.66 per hour
