Job Summary
The Finance and Accounting Analyst at FranklinCovey plays a crucial role in various financial and accounting functions within our Education Division. You will be responsible for multiple aspects of financial management, including budgeting, analyzing financial data, preparing reports, conducting financial modeling, and forecasting. This is a critical role that requires exceptional financial acumen with success in implementing process improvements for complex processes. Essential Job Functions
Develop and implement financial planning strategies, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans. Accounting Functions – Assist with month-end accounting close (journal entries, monthly accruals, account reconciliations, audits, etc.) for various business units. Monthly Reporting Package – Prepare variance analysis of operational results (actual versus prior year and plan) and identify issues and opportunities to improve profitability. Budgeting and Forecasting – Assist with preparation and submission of annual budget and weekly forecast. Financial Modeling – Prepare and analyze financial reports and dashboards with key metrics and performance indicators for sales team and sales leaders. Expense Review – Review and approve employee expenses ensuring adherence to company policy. Compensation – Prepare incentive and commission calculations, and monthly accruals related to incentives. Assist with mentoring a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Project Support and Ad Hoc Requests – Perform additional financial analysis for special or ad-hoc projects as needed.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Finance or Accounting. 2+ years of finance and accounting experience.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Masters Degree. Strong knowledge/experience with information systems. Exceptional understanding of accounting principles. Experience with analyzing and reconciling large financial data sets (big data) and providing recommendations to management. Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. In-depth understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and financial management software. Exceptional cross-team leadership. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Compensation
Anticipated compensation for this position is $75-80k. Actual offer may be outside of this prediction and will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
