Work Arrangement
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Tower, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
Electric Vehicles are GM’s future and you can be part of the team developing the next generation of electric vehicles and propulsion systems. Working closely with Research & Development, Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing you will model future battery technologies, and vehicle program implementation strategies to enhance the profitability of our EV Programs. The results of this analysis directly influences senior leadership decision making. This fast-changing dynamic space will require the successful candidate to be innovative, flexible and exercise a high level of independent judgment.
What You'll Do
Evaluating a variety of future Electric Vehicle Battery Cell technologies to support down selection and targeted applications
Support the development of future technology roadmaps for battery cells, modelling future cost and benchmarking against the industry.
Manage internal business cases for propulsion programs and/or variants throughout the development process, communicate status and period-to-period changes to PET and Propulsion Engineering leadership.
Report EV propulsion system status to Vehicle Finance Teams to support Vehicle Program gate reviews.
Complete Vehicle Finance, Portfolio and Corporate Development study requests for new business development and new program variants.
Additional Job DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business systems, Engineering or a related field
3+ years of relevant professional experience
Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
Ability to lead change and resolve conflicts, work across multiple functional teams in multiple time zones.
Able to assimilate large amounts of financial data, condense this data for program level reporting to upper management
Analytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult, creative solution development.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with global team members
