Finance and Accounting Intern
Job Description

Collaborating on innovation challenges, interacting with Industry leaders, attending cross-functional networking events and volunteering for community service activities.

Additional Job DescriptionInitiate and complete projects to streamline accounting operations via process simplification, standardization and/or automation.Perform (low risk) manual journal entries and account reconciliationParticipate in GA and Global QA meetings to identify opportunities to streamline/simplify work.  This may be one of below, but not limited to APM Policy review, MJE automation/reduction focused on high effort entries, and global QA tasks standardizationPresent the results of the project to GBS Leadership Lead/participate in GBS-wide and GA-wide engagement activitiesCollate all existing trackers from different POCsUnderstand how the trackers are being updated including pain points and inefficienciesCreate a simplified/centralized dashboard that will reflect the Statutory team metricsReduce or minimize the manual effort in updating or tracking the activities (both preparer and leads)Work with Continuous Improvement team and Stat POC on how to create a dashboard using the available solutions/toolsLead / participate in engagement activities of GBS and Statutory ReportingPresent the results to GBS LeadershipCreate a quick guide how to use, update and navigate the dashboardDeploy the dashboard to Statutory team

Required skills and competencies:

Basic accounting skillsMicrosoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)KNIME or any similar automation tools preferably trained LEAN, Six-sigma trainedLeadership skills (e.g. officer in school or community organizations)Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. with high confidence to present to top management)Good in problem solving

Note: Candidates must be graduating/3rd year college students of Accountancy, with internship as official undergraduate requirement, must be willing to extend internship hours if needed and work on a hybrid set-up on mid shift.
