Finance Assistant (Maternity leave cover or until the post holder returns)

Tetra Tech International Development Europe is Tetra Tech’s European business unit focused on International Development. Flexible working available: We operate a hybrid working policy, with people working from the office two days a week and the rest working from home. People may choose to come in more often.

Job Overview and Reporting Line:

This is a broad role as a Finance Assistant, working in a small but dynamic finance team based in the Reading office.  The role is on a fixed-term basis for up to 12 months maternity leave cover or until the post holder returns.

Main Duties:

•    Downloading Bank Statements on HSBC and Bank of America banking platforms for 4 operating entities within the group
•    Preparation of weekly cashbooks for USD, EUR and GBP bank accounts
•    Supporting multiple business units with reconciling bank transactions pro-cessed through the central accounts.
•    Preparation of monthly cashbook journals
•    Assisting with month end process, calculating provisions for accruals and prepayments. 
•    Reviewing intercompany transactions, resolving differences
•    Preparation of month end journals 
•    Raising payments on Bank of America and HSBC Net Global Banking plat-form
•    Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
•    Working with overseas project offices to ensure withholding tax returns and payments are submitted on time.

Aptitude and skills:

•    Experience with Oracle
•    Strong attention to detail and accurate input
•    A working knowledge of month end routines and timings, supported by practical experience
•    Exposure to multi currencies and use of banking platforms
•    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
•    Strong Excel and IT skills
•    A positive attitude to change and an energetic and collaborative disposition
•    Well organised, able to work to deadlines and juggle the demands of the business

Qualifications:

AAT or Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA
