Finance Associate
Union County College is a public comprehensive community college providing quality, affordable, accessible educational programs that serve the greater Union County region. It is the oldest of New Jerseys 19 Associate Degree Colleges, serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College enrolls almost 30,000 credit, non-credit and continuing education students and is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Many programs lead to the Associate in Arts, Science and Applied Science degrees. Campus: Cranford General Description: The Finance Associate supports the Finance department by managing various financial processes and maintaining accurate records. Reporting to the Director of Financial Operations, this role is integral in ensuring smooth financial operations within the College. Characteristics, Duties and Responsibilities: • Card Management: Oversee the usage and control of College-issued travel cards. • Expense Reimbursements: Process expense reimbursements, ensuring they meet institutional guidelines. • Record Keeping: Maintain and organize financial records in line with established procedures. • Cash Receipts Processing: Manage cash receipts, including data entry and deposit preparation. • Accounts Receivable: Process invoices and ensure accuracy in financial balances. • Payment Preparation: Prepare payments for operational expenses as needed. • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as required to support financial operations. Education Requirements: Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience: Previous experience in a financial or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting. Physical Demands and Work Environment: • This position’s duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled. • Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. • No or very limited exposure to physical risk. • Some travel required.
