As a key member of the finance management team, the Finance Budget Director will oversee the college’s budgeting and financial planning responsibilities. The role reports to the College’s Business Manager and will be called to present to the college’s Operational Leadership Teams. In addition, the Finance Budget Director may serve on various committees. They will be a visionary, incorporate innovative practices into strategies and formulate financial operating plans while collaborating with other college finance staff. In addition, the role requires resource allocation, execution, and performance measurement. The qualified candidate will be a dynamic leader that has experience building high performing teams and values teamwork while leading with inspiration and collaboration. The Finance Budget Director will work with the College’s executives and department administrators, faculty, staff, and external constituents by employing industry best practices and having a data driven mindset. This position provides regular financial management updates to the executive and director levels. They will also assist with the execution of programs and policies and will contribute to the development of a long-range vision for the campus.
The Finance Budget Director will report to the Business Manager and work collaboratively with the Vice President Finance and Administration in long rage planning and budgeting. In addition to the CUNY title overview duties, tasks include but are not limited to:
• Oversee and manage all aspects of the tax levy budget system, this includes all academic divisions, administrative divisions and research efforts.
• Collaborate with CUNY Central Office and City of New York to manage the budget and expenses for all employees.
• Develop a planning process at the department and college level that incorporates all sources of funds and that aligns resources with strategic objectives of the college.
• Provide guidance on divisional revenue generation, performance and align the budget model to more closely provide tuition projections and reflect enrollment needs.
• Develop an all-funds financial reporting structure analyzing budgets by division, department and funding sources.
• Design and implement technology-based solutions and automated business processes to facilitate financial planning, decision making, and reporting.
• Facilitate the successful implementation of CUNYWORK/Workday and related tools to improve budget control and financial planning.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
**MINIMUM:**
• Bachelor's Degree and eight years' related experience required.
**PREFERRED:**
• Experience with Workday highly preferred.

**CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW**
Directs the budgeting function of a College or major program as well as related accounting operations.
- Formulates, prepares and oversees financial plans and budgeting processes
- Manages all financial reporting and compliance activities, including preparation of financial statements, statistical reports, and funding determinations
- Liaisons with internal and external financial auditors as well as various College, University and governmental representatives
- Oversees analytical reporting and provides strategic financial guidance to support decisions regarding resource allocations and operational planning
- Manages professional staff responsible for budget projections, allocations and transactions
- Performs related duties as assigned.

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**
**For appointments expected to start on or before 8/31/2025:**
Salary range is $132,987 - $141,858, Salary commensurate with education and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
