Overview Gallagher Bassett is looking for a Finance Business Partner to play a key role in managing and reporting the financial transactions of the organisation. This hybrid role, based in Tamworth, requires you to work on a hybrid basis (2 days in the office). The role involves preparing and monitoring financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting audit processes. The successful candidate will oversee the accuracy of financial records, manage month-end and year-end closures, and assist in budgeting and forecasting. A professional finance qualification (or working towards one) and relevant financial accounting experience is required, along with strong attention to detail and effective communication skills. This position reports to the Senior Finance Business Partner and offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to the financial integrity and success of the group. How you'll make an impact Prepare and analyse the month end pack. P&L production Variance analysis Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process Monitor the Balance Sheet reconciliation balances and prompt action where necessary Ensure timely month-end and year-end close processes Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) and reverse VAT obligations Implement and monitor controls Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records Oversee the tasks of the Accounts Assistants and provide support and cover where necessary (Sales invoicing, Purchase ledger, Cashbook) Ensure financial transactions are recorded and classified accurately Oversee the accuracy and integrity of the billing process for the Group Prepare and monitor the posting of various journals (Accruals, deferrals, etc) Coordinate with internal and external auditors during financial audits Provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors About You Professional Finance qualification (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) or PQ for an equivalent experience Minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a related role Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP, IFRS) Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience with Salesforce desirable but not required Eligibility to work in the UK Compensation and benefits On top of a competitive salary, great teams and exciting career opportunities, we also offer a wide range of benefits.
