Finance Business Partner

The Role The Finance business Partner will be working closely with the operations and wider business to provide financial and commercial support to ensure that operational and financial performance are on track to meet company strategic objectives and that reporting is meaningful and informs business decision making. Location: The ideal location for this role would be Northwest England, South Central England, or Wales. Salary: £48,000 to £55,000 depending on experience. Key Responsibilities + Support senior business stakeholders to effectively achieve and exceed their performance and financial contractual commitments whilst supporting growth. + Act as a true partner to support the delivery of the strategic and operational goals. Working as part of the commercial finance team providing support from a commercial, FP&A and new business activities. + Support with development and assessment of new business opportunities in line with organisational growth targets, ensuring opportunities are viable and meet organisational strategic objectives. + Responsible for preparing annual regional budgets which meet organisational profitability and investment goals, through to board sign off, ensuring budgets are realistic yet challenging. + Use financial analysis to facilitate change and improve business performance preparing meaningful insights based on performance trends both current and historical, industry trends, competitor landscape and funder requirements to inform business decisions and prepare a revised forecast on an annual basis and produce rolling forecasts to support business capital rationing cycles. + Support business growth by designing and building complex financial models, in line with funder specifications and business delivery solutions which meet submission criteria and which are of a high quality standard underpinned by risk and detailed narratives which clearly capture all aspects of the costs and underlying assumptions. + Use historical information and other available industry-specific operating metrics and work with the relevant BD and operational stakeholders to meet bid objectives and deadlines. + Responsible for providing accurate and timely financial data along with rich and meaningful commentary and variance analysis to plan, against the monthly and weekly reporting plans to support decision making at all levels. + Continually improve and provide financial reporting to the business which is meaningful provides insight and analysis which allows business decisions to be made and performance to be accurately assessed. + Provides support in ensuring that the rules, principles, and the internal control requirements of the contracts are met. + Support and advise the wider AR team with drawdown of funding in relation to your contracts ensuring that revenue is maximised. + Support the commercial controller with the development of meaningful financial reporting developing the budget and forecasting system to optimises and enrich financial information which improves decision making including 3 year forecasts, rolling forecasts, opportunity analysis, balance sheet reporting and cashflow reporting. + Responsible for accurately forecasting the short medium and long term cash requirements of the business which effectively manage organisational working capital and maximise cash balances, including planning for long term business needs, growth and investment. + Build and maintain collaborative relationships with operational teams, other stakeholders and department to maximise financial performance of their delivery. + Identify key financial and non-financial risks and advise mitigants for those risks. + Recommend and implement process improvement measures and lead on the implementation of new business, from a financial perspective, ensuring all aspects of finance are designed and executed for go live. + Any other ad hoc duties as required to support the delivery of business objectives. Person Specification Experience and Qualifications: + Highly analytical and detail orientated, possessing strong commercial acumen and business sense. + Previous Business Partnering or project Account position. + Organised multitasker who can work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines. + Demonstrable ability to communicate, build relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. + Advanced IT skills and highly proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel + Qualified accountant, either ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
