Finance Business Partner - Near Patient Care

The Position

50% of your time will be as Innovation Finance Business Partner R&D and CMDA for the Lumira Development Network. In this vital role, you will act as the financial mentor and key point of contact, supporting the Lumira Development Network to deliver a challenging roadmap that includes successful launches and preparation for potential trade-off decisions or acceleration proposals. Your role entails  providing transparent insights and a deep understanding of financial and business dynamics to drive impactful value. 

As an independent controller and sparring partner, you will deliver high-quality Finance Business Partnering support and engage in both operational activities and strategic initiatives, contributing to the success of R&D Network functions and the Near Patient Care (NPC) Customer Area.

50%  of your time will be a trusted Finance Business Partner to other enabling functions, be responsible for financial planning, including cost centre reporting and analysis while ensuring financial compliance and appropriate cost management.

The Opportunity

Act as the financial mentor and key contact for the global Lumira Development Network, empowering informed decision-making through transparent insights on crucial business topics.

Serve as a standing member of the Lumira Development Network, actively collaborating with a diverse cross-functional team.

Manage operational finance activities such as cost center reviews, accrual and time-recording processes, corrective journals, and annual R&D FTE rate calculations.

Assist in executing a demanding roadmap, including product launches and preparation for potential trade-off decisions.

Influence the global Capex investment portfolio and support site strategies to foster growth and innovation.

Play a pivotal role in strategic workforce planning to ensure the availability of accurate resources for the RDS project portfolio over a 3-year horizon.

Perform detailed cost and benefit analysis, develop persuasive business cases, steer strategic decision-making, and mitigate financial risks and opportunities.

Foster collaboration across organizational boundaries to uncover inefficiencies and facilitate improvements, working closely with various stakeholders like R&D Development Networks, Chapters, Project and Portfolio Management, Business Area Finance, and Global Functions

Enabling functions business partnering:

Provide regular financial performance and compliance analysis for cost centre managers, along with performance commentary, and liaise with stakeholders to explain variances for LumiraDx sites in the UK and the US.

Partner with department/cost centre owners for reporting, analysis, and actionable insights to ensure resources/investments are planned for short/mid/long term strategy.

Ensure transparency on purchase orders (PO), non-PO, and expenses to maintain financial compliance and cost efficiency.

Support the financial closing process, including cost centre allocation, accruals, prepayment, and journals.

Champion Power BI to build queries/reports for simplifying activities and roll out to key users, while managing the Finance Partnering data repository and ensuring timely system transitions during the SAP P1U Roll-out

Who you are

Full or part-qualified in CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred, with a University Degree or equivalent.

Solid work experience in finance roles with growing responsibility, with experience in a finance business partnering role as a plus.

Systems-related experience (NetSuite/SAP), Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills, and familiarity with PowerBI or similar, with experience working with Google/Microsoft.

Proven resilience with a self-starter attitude, strong working relationships with internal and external customers/suppliers, and a desire to learn and contribute.

Excellent communication skills, high personal responsibility, ability to manage challenging priorities while meeting deadlines, and experience with agile ways of working in a multicultural, global environment.
