Job Description

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Finance representative on respective Leadership Team, responsible for influencing and achieving financial KPI’s and budget/forecast targetsManage the monthly closing and reporting process including recommendations for corrective actions.P&L ownership for functional cost/ FTE, OCOS, Standard Costing calculations for externally manufactured products and Inventory Values. This includes COGS Variances, inventory changes and inventory write-off/reserve analysis.Provide monthly reporting packages including variance explanations to the Finance Lead SM&Onc External Supply.Executes the annual standard costing process for the supported External Supply organization. Prepare YOY change analysis to Finance Lead SM&Onc External Supply and GMS Product Costing Team in the required format.Lead the MYC, MRP, LBE for US Region to support timelines communicated by GMS Finance by working closely with business partners to understand budget/ forecast requirements and provide overview and recommendations as necessary.Ensure financial / data integrity and compliance with an effective and sustainable internal control framework, e.g. manages CMO reconciliations on a quarterly basis and serve as the liaison with internal and external auditors during quarter-end/year-end audits. Accountable for an efficient and accurate regional financial reporting.Support financial projects and program “Agile” for GMS Finance and External Supply.Focus on making recommendations for enhancing existing processes and developing financial models and business case analysis used in supporting key decisions.

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Strong knowledge of manufacturing accounting, esp. for activities at external manufacturers. Solid understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain through all process steps from raw material to finished goods.Strong knowledge of internal controls and financial reporting under IFRS and US-GAAP (SOX).Strong knowledge of financial business case modeling, scenario planning and financial business partnering tools/approaches.

Leadership

Part of extended regional Leadership Team, driving regional/global business cases and influencing strategic choices / directionIndirectly leading cross functional teams for specific improvement projects or planning cycles.Position will need to work closely and influence/guide with various GMS stakeholders / business – and finance partners.

Decision-making and Autonomy

Position will be expected to work independently with limited oversight.Position will be expected to provide guidance to business partners / finance teams and drive the right decisions to ensure the OpU achieves it targets.

Interaction

Will interact extensively with External Supply Operations, Supply Chain and non-finance personnel. Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) will be important to interact with colleagues across the world.Will serve as Finance Business Partner to the ES SM US Leadership Team and will present financial information to the ES SM US Leadership Team.

Innovation

Position will require the ability to question the status quo and to come up with more efficient and effective ways to execute the related financial processes.Potential to support the GMS Finance Transformation process and overarching projects.

Complexity

Highly complex business environment, ERP system, data flow and compliance requirements.

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 

Master Degree in BA, Accounting or Finance and 10 or more years of relevant experience. MBA and CPA (or equivalent) is a plus.Experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry, including cost accounting experience with exposure to manufacturing and/or supply chain“Big 4” experience is a strong plusExperience influencing Global business partnersStrong analytical and critical thinking skills (need intellectual “curiosity”)Strong analytical skill with ability to analyze and understand large amounts of dataAbility to effectively influence and drive consensus across Global cross functional teams and can interact with all levels of managementStrong negotiation, interpersonal communication and collaboration skillsAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with ERP Systems (SAP), TM1 (Fit4Plan) and Hyperion Financial Manager (HFM) is a strong plus

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives.
