What's the role?

The Site Finance Manager / Controller will perform and coordinate local company finance operations, budget management and manufacturing cost analysis, while acting as an advisor to site & business management to drive plant and business performance. The individual will ensure company accounting procedures to conform to generally accepted accounting principles. In order to succeed, previous manufacturing experience, a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to build cross-site networks will be required.

Business Controlling
• Manage monthly financial closings and support the Business Head & Plant Manager with P&L reporting, EBIT, gross margin and Headcount analysis, etc. to help understand the financial position of the factory
• Provide management with daily, weekly & monthly reporting and analysis to measure performance and work on corrective actions when required.
• Lead the annual budget and forecast processes on site and is responsible for final submission of data and analysis to corporate headquarter
• Evaluate working capital, investments, capital expenditures; Guide and recommend the business to identify cost saving opportunities
• Actively ensure compliance of policies and procedures with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements
• Ensure the preparation of monthly, quarterly and yearly accounts
• Support the annual audit of an external CPA firm
Cost Controlling
• Analyze ordering patterns, monthly stock consumption, etc. and advice business on controlling inventory costs, dead stock, stocking costs, etc.
• Lead the development of product standard costs & the annual revision of all standard costs
• Follow all internal financial controls within the business to ensure all financial activities are conducted as per set guidelines and company assets are protected
• Work closely with the business and the global team to set transfer pricing for different products in order to maximize profits
• Track, analyze and report key performance metrics, productivity and cost of goods manufactured in line with guidelines and performance versus target; Prepare and submit financial reports to the global team on a periodic basis
• Provide regular local cost reports and advise management of any forecasted cost overruns as soon as possible to allow corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner
Stakeholder Management
• Continuously engage with the management team at the factory to drive all financial aspects and to support on all financial decision making
• Local point of contact for German headquarter inquiries for financial aspects
• Cooperation and alignment with Finance colleagues at other Zeiss Meditec production sites to ensure globally harmonized processes
• Ensure successful cooperation with global shared services team
People Management
• Supervise one Accountant
• Follow a culture of continuous improvement and learning
• Demonstrate a self-directed and high-performance culture in the team

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Ability to analyze fiets, and product-line profitability analysis. Strong communication skills and abilitynancial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long-term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budget to pro-actively identify, communicate and address relevant issues.

Do you qualify?
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance / Accounting
• 7+ years’ experience of Controlling & Cost Accounting in a manufacturing company
• ERP experience required, preferably SAP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to seek resources as required
• Very strong communication & ability to proactively build network
• Experience in working with teams across different locations / internationally
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from management, regulatory agencies, or other internal or external stakeholders. Ability to effectively present information to top management and/or boards of directors.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND TRAITS
Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgment, showing logical decision making and hands on approach. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Power User is a Plus. Strong background and expertise with Accounting Systems. SAP Experience and manufacturing experience helpful. Experience working in an international firm with Matrixed reporting structure a plus. Independent and flexible work attitude.

The annual pay range for this position is $113,400 - $141,700.

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.
  
This position is eligible for a Performance Bonus.
