Finance Coordinator (aHEO) **POSITION DETAILS** Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Coordinator is responsible for processing, monitoring, and maintaining the financial resources and activities of Non Tax Levy entities in accordance with CUNY Guidelines and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and that year end statements are in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting principles (GAAP). Job duties for this position include but are not limited to: - Perform professional work in the field of accounting and auditing in a higher education setting; coordinate and record accounting activities - Assist in maintaining general and special books of accounts for non tax levy entities - Record accounting entries and adjustments, including accounts payable transactions, cash management transfers and other systems transactions - Review and prepare trial balances, bank reconciliations, financial statements and supporting schedules - Gather data for use in preparing and analyzing various budgets and schedules - Review various financial transactions ahead of implemented deadlines - Review and audit documentation for accuracy and compliance - Assist with performing month end, quarterly, mid-year and year-end closings by deadlines - Assist with reconciling the general ledger for various entities and prepare monthly schedules - Assist with various audits providing documentation required - Attention to details and ability to manage multiple priorities - Must have strong organizational skills - Meet deadlines while working independently and collaboratively **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor’s degree required. **Other Qualifications:** -Degree in Accounting or Finance -Accounting experience or knowledge -Knowledge of Peoplesoft or Oracle software, specifically the finance module -Knowledge of other accounting software -Higher education experience in Finance -Experience utilizing Microsoft Excel using advanced functions, Word, Access and SharePoint -Must have strong organizational skills **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Performs financial analysis and administrative work related to College or unit accounting. - Prepares, reconciles and distributes expenditure and related accounting reports - Creates and maintains various spreadsheets related to financial analysis - Processes and tracks transactional entries - Provides support in the administration of various business operations - Coordinates with various departments on accounting matters - Monitors systems and operations to assure a smooth workflow - Performs related duties as assigned.
