Finance Coordinator - Business Office **POSITION DETAILS** The Business Office provides support and assistance to the College in the areas of accounting, accounts receivable, Perkins Loans, TAP certification, Research Foundation post-award accounting, and the College revenue budget. We seek to render timely, effective, efficient, and customer friendly service to all faculty members, staff, students, and administrators, as well as customers both within and outside the University community. We strive to maintain and enforce strong professional and ethical standards, while adhering to CUNY policies and procedures. The Business Office is seeking applications for a Finance Coordinator, reporting to the Finance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: - Performs financial transactions for Non-Tax Levy entities including review of deposits and bank statements. Makes appropriate disbursements or refunds, salary advances, and travel and expenditure reimbursements. - Maintains financial records of contracts, authorizations, receipts and payments, and other activities (including College Administration, Scholarships, and Government Grants). Submits monthly, semi-annual, and annual financial data through CUNYfirst. - Completes financial analyses as well as prepares financial and management information reports. - Assists with mid-year and end-of-year procedures and with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures. - Assists with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures, and audits transactions for accuracy and compliance. - Examines invoices, claims, vouchers, statements, bills, etc. for accuracy by reviewing supporting data and records. - Prepares and submits the annual NYC Imprest Accountability Report. - Reviews submitted Non-Tax Levy Travel and Expense reimbursements for faculty/staff and confirms travel complies with NYS Travel Regulations. - Adheres to the CUNY Cash Accountability Policy. - Collaborates with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Budget, Payroll, and other offices on related projects and activities as assigned. - Responds to inquiries from faculty, staff, and students regarding financial policies and procedures. - Essential duties require on-campus presence. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's Degree required. The following qualifications are preferred: - At least 2 years experience in higher education - Experience with PeopleSoft (CUNYfirst) - Availability to work evening and weekend hours **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Performs financial analysis and administrative work related to College or unit accounting. - Prepares, reconciles and distributes expenditure and related accounting reports - Creates and maintains various spreadsheets related to financial analysis - Processes and tracks transactional entries - Provides support in the administration of various business operations - Coordinates with various departments on accounting matters - Monitors systems and operations to assure a smooth workflow - Performs related duties as assigned.
