Purpose
Contributes Accounts Payable operation in Canada and other jurisdiction (i.e., US, UK, IRL) for Finance Services Unit and supports leadership, ensuring training and development strategies, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered with overall business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. The Development Analyst is responsible for the teaching and mentoring accompaniment. He/she analyzes accounts payable tutoring needs.
Accountabilities
Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. Delivering and overseeing the training of individuals and groups of employees. Creates and develop the Cross-training plan to achieve SLA goals. Creates and maintains updated the training material and process documentation. Organizes and carry out the induction of new Clerks and Officers to the company and their role. Prepare and facilitate required training/refreshing sessions according to the business needs. Monitor training progress. Responsible of new hires learning curve. Responsible for refreshers to tenure team members periodically. Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices. Operational reporting as needed. Escalate either inconsistencies or discrepancies regarding AP procedures, policies, invoices, expenses Identify areas of improvement and makes suggestions. Support the staff development. Providing management timely reports that outline group training and workplace improvements. Preparing operations briefs for management. Support the approvals of the vouchers created in system, according to expense´s nature as required, as needed. Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be incorporate into in day-to-day activities and decisions. Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.

Education / Experience / Other Information
Must to have: Bachelor’s degree in finance, BA, Accounting, or another related field. MS Office tools skilled Presentation and management skills, well developed in corporate environment. Access, Easy Tool, PeopleSoft B1 level of English. Soft sklills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization. Problem-solving skills. Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback. Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and individually, as needed. Results oriented and able to effectively execute in a fast past environment. Preferable: Desirable Six sigma methodologies knowledge (Yellow/green belt).
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
