Major Purpose

As a Finance Development Program employee, you will rotate through three 12-month assignments in different areas of Accounting/Finance.  This job is the first level of the Finance Development Program (FDP) and is designed to provide opportunities to develop an understanding of John Deere's products and services, establish a network of people to support personal and professional growth, and to gain experience in one or more of the following areas: cost management, financial analysis, functional assignments and strategic planning. This position performs various professional accounting and finance assignments requiring knowledge of Business Units, Company policies, and accounting theory. This includes coordinating, preparing, and analyzing financial information and reports that provide summary information for management use in making Company financial decisions.

Major Duties Evaluate costs and identify variances or opportunities to improve profitability. Track budgets and report variances. Monitor and analyze data using established finance systems and protocols. Develop personal capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education. Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Assist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice. Support the implementation of financial systems process changes and enhancements. Produce accurate reports by collecting and analyzing data from a variety of standard sources and inputting it into standard formats. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale required. Minimum of 6 credit hours in accounting. Knowledge of accounting systems, processes and practices. Ability to gather and analyze data. Willing to travel and relocate to any John Deere location in the U.S. Must be willing to relocate domestically. Assignments can be at various locations throughout the United States.
