About the RoleAs the Finance Director in charge of the Consumer and Professional Business in the US, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our financial strategy and driving sustainable growth. Reporting to the VP of Finance Americas, you will enhance profitability, ensure rigorous internal controls, and deliver strategic insights that empower commercial decisions within a dynamic and matrixed environment. You will have full accountability for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards in collaboration with local and group Finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Lead the financial strategy for the Consumer and Professional Business, maintaining full accountability for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow management to ensure financial health and performance.Collaborate with senior leadership to provide actionable insights that drive business growth, identifying and quantifying risks and opportunities at both strategic and operational levels.Champion Dyson’s finance strategy, promoting the core pillars of integrity and commercial success throughout all US operations.Implement and enforce rigorous internal controls and compliance measures to safeguard financial integrity and ensure adherence to all regulatory and organizational standards.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Build and maintain strong relationships with the US Leadership Team and Global Finance organization, fostering a collaborative culture that thrives in a matrixed environment.Influence local and group stakeholders to drive alignment on financial objectives, ensuring that financial strategies support broader business goals.Navigate complex organizational dynamics to challenge the status quo and develop innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiencies and profitability.Enhance investment appraisal methodologies for advertising and promotional spending to ensure maximum value generation and alignment with corporate objectives.Comprehensive Management and Reporting:
Deliver accurate monthly performance reports, providing insightful analysis of variances from budget and targets to inform strategic decision-making.Ensure transparency and accuracy in P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting, collaborating closely with local and group Finance stakeholders to align on financial outcomes.Drive continuous process improvement in financial reporting and management, transitioning towards real-time analytics that enable agile and informed business responses.Oversee the budget and forecasting process, ensuring comprehensive risk assessment and opportunity identification through robust collaboration with commercial managers.Talent Development and Team Leadership:
Lead and inspire a high-performing finance team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and agility in a fast-paced landscape.Elevate finance’s role in strategic decision-making within responsible cost centers, empowering team members to drive value and influence outcomes.Mentor and develop team members, aligning their growth with organizational goals and supporting HR strategies for talent development and resource management.Additional Responsibilities:
Embrace new initiatives that align with the role’s strategic objectives and proactively address operational challenges.About You10-15 years of progressive finance experience, with a strong focus on strategic financial analysis and full accountability for P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.Bachelor's degree required; MBA, Masters or CPA/CMA preferred.Proven track record in technology or high-end consumer products industries is highly desirable.Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, business planning, budgeting, and comprehensive management reporting.
