Finance Director

We are committed to creating a positive work culture that fosters growth and development while ensuring the health and safety of our employees. **Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):** + **Financial Leadership:** Function as the designated financial leader to all SG&A functional leaders to drive value creation for the Company, partner with operating business leaders for capital planning and growth assessments, and execute strategic projects that advance the organization’s goals + **Financial and Business Strategy:** Partner with functional and business leadership to develop and execute forward-thinking strategy, business plans, and initiatives that align with the Company’s long-range strategy and annual operating plans. + **Continuous Improvement:** Develop and implement improved processes, procedures, and internal controls utilizing industry best practices. Evaluate current operational practices and establish an environment of continuous improvement to ensure established processes support effective and efficient management. + **Financial Planning:** Oversee the long-range plan (LRP), annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly and latest view forecasts for all SG&A and capital expenditures; ensure accountability of financial results to appropriate business unit leadership. Partner with the Engineering and Innovation group in assessing capital required for the business and evaluating capital requirements within a stage gate process. + **Accounting and Reporting:** Coordinate with Accounting the month-end close process to ensure the SG&A and Capex results are accurate and complete; provide an analysis of variances against the approved targets; Provide financial and operational performance trends to leadership and offer advice and counsel to management for continuous improvement opportunities. + **Business Performance Management:** Facilitate the month-end financial reviews with functional leaders to review the P&L performance and key performance indicators (KPI’s); drive development of improvement plans with accountability. Partner with Engineering to forecast cashflow implications from capital projects. + **Business Development and Capital Planning:** Oversee the company’s capital forecast and stage gate process. Analyze and evaluate potential investments and cost saving initiatives as they relate to the company’s financial objectives and work closely with Operations and Regional Finance Directors to track and forecast the results relating to Opex/Capex. + **Other:** Perform ad hoc assignments as necessary, including system improvements and changes, acquisitions, and geographic expansion **Basic Required Qualifications: ** + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business field. + Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial management. **Preferred Qualifications:** + CPA and/or MBA preferred. + Strong technology skills preferred; Hyperion Planning / Oracle experience and/ or experience as an ERP system power user a plus. + Demonstrated experience using Excel to build and maintain complex financial models and perform financial and data analysis. + Significant experience evaluating, developing, and implementing processes, controls, and procedures. + Expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, modeling, and reporting. **Additional Demands** + Ability to travel up to 25% + Demonstrates knowledge of business – evaluating information for proper business context + Willingness to invest time and effort to understand business, customers and competitive dynamics to influence strategic business decisions. + Highly analytical and detail oriented with a focus on delivering high quality results - takes the time required to validate information reported + Insightful, consistent and considerate communication skills, both verbal and written. + Ability to work and communicate professionally and effectively with others at all levels of the organization - both in finance and in operations. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Proven track record of taking initiative, producing quality work, and meeting tight deadlines. + Proven ability to develop new ideas and creative solutions. + Ability to complete projects with little direction – comfortable with ambiguity + Continuous Improvement minded - understands business processes in order to identify reengineering opportunities Clean Earth offers competitive benefits including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance plans starting on the first day of employment; paid time off, wellness benefits, employee discount program, tuition assistance, and a 401k with company matching.
