Our client is a long-established, international Leisure & Travel group, providing services across Europe.

Job Description

This is a senior leadership role within the finance team and the successful candidate will oversee all areas of financial reporting and control within a key business area of an international group. The team is relied on to play a lead role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining robust financial controls across the business. As such, the Finance Director will work closely with the CFO and business leadership team to build and develop a 'best in class' finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.Coordinate the consolidation of group financial statements, ensuring consistency and accuracy.Financial Control:Develop and maintain robust internal control systems to ensure accurate reporting at a subsidiary and group level.Play a lead role in the implementation and monitoring of relevant financial policies and procedures.Work closely with the CFO to conduct regular reviews of financial processes and systems to identify and mitigate risks.



Audit and Compliance:

Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.Oversee internal audit activities and ensure findings are addressed promptly.



Strategic Planning:

Support the development and implementation of the group's medium/long-term strategic plans.Provide financial insights and analysis to support business growth and expansion initiatives.Participate in strategic projects and initiatives, providing financial expertise and guidance.



Team Leadership:

Play a lead role in building and developing a high-performing finance teamLeading by example to create a culture of continuous improvement, professional development and business partnering.Provide regular mentoring and support to team members, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed to succeed.Promote a collaborative and inclusive working environment.The Successful Applicant

Knowledge & Skills:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in a financial reporting/control role.Extensive experience in financial reporting and control within an international group.Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.Proven ability to manage complex financial processes and systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong IT skills, including experience with large accounting packages and financial reporting systems.Experience in managing third-party & external audit relationships.What's on Offer
