Finance Group Manager, Functional Marketing

As a leader in the Functional Marketing Finance team, you will be at the center of the transformation of customer acquisition through focused and effective strategies in partnership with our Functional marketing teams, including: Global Media & Partnerships, Communications, and Monetization & Business Planning. You will be responsible for execution across planning, analytics, insight & Return on Investment (ROI), prioritization, and spend optimization. The Functional Marketing Finance team is part of the Marketing Finance team. This team provides finance support, analysis, and partners closely with Marketing stakeholders to drive strategic prioritization, thought leadership, and resource trade-off decisions with the goal of increasing marketing investment ROI. This role will also be responsible for leading by example and creating best in class culture that enables team members to accelerate their career growth and drive impactful outcomes aligned to Microsoft’s strategy. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond **Responsibilities** + Lead individual team members, providing coaching, priority setting, support, and leadership to team members to drive business growth, impact, and career growth + Execution for Global Media & Partnerships, Communications, and Monetization and Business Planning including business partnership/collaboration, investment frameworks/prioritization, analytics, and recommendations to increase ROI and re-investment opportunities + Drive data informed decision making and systematic solutions, communicate effectively with executives, and collaborate well across all levels of the commercial and marketing organization across forums + Direct and coach team members as they leverage relationships with their marketing partners. Oversees complex partnerships with stakeholders and customers (mainly internal). Ensures that organization and teams remain customer centric. + Directs, performs, and reviews analysis and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans. Prepares, summarizes, and drives recommendations. + Guides others to contribute to budget, forecast, reporting, closing, and recurring business review processes. + Manages the rhythm of the business for area of responsibility including monthly close, recurring business review preparation, and budgeting. + Ensures team is generating relevant and actionable insights to move business forward. Collaborates and empowers others to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results. + Generates actionable plans based on complex results, ambiguous findings, and multi-year time horizons. Coaches team to translate data into a simplified and engaging message with actionable insights. Facilitates a shared understanding and awareness of business partner situations. + Influences leadership to ensure compliance is a top priority and modeled throughout the organization. Directs team and holds others accountable to ensure financial control processes, policies, instruments, and procedures are executed. Guides team and encourages others to identify and share risks to compliance and take steps to mitigate. + Drives a compliant culture through actions and decisions to instill trust. Advocates, educates, and promotes best practices and new developments. Champions Microsoft privacy, security, and ethical standards. Advances key compliance initiatives. **Qualifications** **Required/Minimum Qualifications** + Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field + OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance, or related field + OR equivalent experience. **Additional or Preferred Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 12+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience + OR Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 8+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership, or finance work experience + OR equivalent experience. + 2+ years experience managing direct reports. + 3+ years experience in multinationals with multi-product/multi-segment finance roles. + 3+ years work experience in matrix-based organization. + 3+ years work experience in the technology or software industry. Financial Analysis M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $115,000 - $200,300 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $146,200 - $219,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
