The Role:

Proofpoint are looking for an Accounting Intern to join our fast-paced, high performing international accounting team in Belfast. This individual will be an integral part of the international accounting team with focus on our European and South American countries.  This is a great opportunity that will allow for career growth as the Company continues to expand.

Responsible for assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures, including account reconciliations and roll-forward schedulesSupport in the procure to pay process end to endAssistance and preparation of journal entries based on review of supporting reconciliations and schedulesGeneral Ledger responsibilities including, but not limited to monthly Management reporting packages, Accounting for International Subs, Accruals, and other areasAssist in preparing monthly balance sheet and income statement flux variance analyses for management reportingSupport in annual subs audits where applicableSupport team in finance SOX compliance activitiesAssist in process improvement projects, including coordination with cross-functional teamsDeliver on any ad-hoc projects as necessary

Qualifications:

Pursuing undergraduate degree in Accounting or similar accounting qualificationAble to work 40 hours a week, minimum of 3 days onsite in Belfast officeStrong proficiency in ExcelStrong organisation and verbal/communications skillsDetail-oriented with excellent analytical and prioritization skillsSystem ERP experience a plus, primarily D365
