Research Analyst

Business Unit:            Investment Operations, Global Research Group

Job Title:                    Research Analyst

Job Description:

The Global Research Group provides business intelligence services to Blackstone’s business units. This group supports the firm with qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on a broad range of topics, from industry research to analysis of macroeconomic trends and financial markets. The group supports the full range of Blackstone’s activities and works closely with the deal teams throughout the deal process in their on-going industry coverage efforts.

The Research Analyst will work on qualitative and quantitative research including fact finding, financial analysis, competitive analysis, due diligence, macro-economic analysis, and data sourcing across multiple industries. Tasks include data retrieval and analysis, collating company information, creating industry overviews, identifying financial market trends, and benchmarking macroeconomic trends.

Requirements:                 

Highly motivated, intelligent, and pragmatic individual that has demonstrated excellence in prior endeavours1+ years of experience in a research-based role at a professional services or financial services firmStrong quantitative, analytical and research skills, including innovative thinking and creative problem solvingStrong communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write effectively on complicated topics, the ability to work with a global team, and the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders to meet needs, often with short-term deadlinesA desire to work across a varied set of research assignments, spanning industries, macroeconomic variables, firm financials, and other deal-related or commercial topicsExperience in sourcing and evaluating financial market data, microeconomic financial data, financial instruments, and/or macroeconomic variables is preferableWillingness to engage with ad-hoc tasks and initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

Requires a BA or BSc degree, preferably in Economics or Finance.Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Expected annual base salary range:

$95,000 - $125,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
