Key job responsibilities
The AMXL Strategic Finance team seeks a Finance Manager to partner with the AMXL Retail, Strategy and Operations Teams to drive an agenda of optimization, efficiency and insights across the Heavy Bulky vertical. This role will own the strategy, governance and oversight of Heavy Bulky's end-to-end decision systems that feed our financials, partnering with key business experts to validate system inputs, and propose strategies to improve decision-making across the vertical. The successful candidate should be comfortable diving deep into the details, and drawing out value-added insights to drive continuous improvement initiatives, influence central teams on prioritization, and raise the bar on the integrity and accuracy of data feeding business decision-making.

This team provides a unique opportunity to gain true end-to-end exposure of a P&L, and have direct involvement in improving business decision-making with close partnership with business owners. You'll be technically astute (intermediate SQL required), and curious to learn and share knowledge across both finance and non-finance partners. The role coordinates initiatives that span multiple organizations and stakeholders with high visibility to senior leadership. Experience in this team opens up several career opportunities across Amazon and access to making an impact to the broader end-to-end operational vertical.

A day in the life
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- Proficiency in diving deep into multiple Amazon systems (including financial systems), with comfort utilizing query-based data via SQL.
- Curiosity to understand how Amazon data flows through an end-to-end Retail and Supply Chain organization, and how these inputs influence cost. You'll proactively work to resolve disconnects, reduce manual intervention, and drive greater data integrity and accuracy that leads to more optimal decision-making;
- An ability to consider both financial and non-financial tradeoffs of system decisions, including keeping the customer at the center of what we do.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate the story behind the numbers.
