Diageo Montgomery:

As part of its efforts to build an increasingly resilient and efficient supply network, premium drinks company Diageo North America announced plans to open a new manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery, Alabama. The 360,000 square foot facility will have a multi-million case annual production capacity for Diageo’s leading beverage alcohol brands. This site will enhance the company’s North America supply chain operations and support future growth for the company’s export business.

The new facility, which will be referred to as ‘Diageo Montgomery,’ will provide a new point of operations closer to the company’s beverage distributors in the southern region. The site’s strategic location is expected to reduce required road travel, significantly helping to further mitigate carbon emissions associated with logistics operations. The new facility will also employ top tier technology for more efficient water and energy usage across the site.

Role Responsibilities:

As Finance Manager for the site your role will be to:

Establish financial processes and controls at startup manufacturing facilityLead the financial reporting, accounting, and analysis of the siteContribute to the North America manufacturing financial performanceDrive performance and decision-making process at the site through providing financial support and leadershipLead the development of the annual operating plans (AOP) and latest estimates (LE), delivery of financial results and development and implementation of critical initiativesIdentify performance improvement opportunities and work with the site leadership to complete themMaintain strong internal control & compliance environmentSimplify our reporting and decision-making processes by bringing to bear digital toolsIdentify & pro-actively handle risks and opportunities and provide performance insights

Which team will you join?

The position is Based in Montgomery, AlabamaReporting to the Finance Director Supply OperationPartnering with the leadership of the Montgomery site for day-to-day operationWorking with the Business Shared Services for timely and accurately closing the Books and performing various financial analysisOptimally work with numerous members of finance community and other functions within DiageoInteract with multiple functions and coordinates the flow of information between multiple levels of management

What will you need to succeed in this role?

Good accounting, planning, reporting, analysis, and controls understandingEnd to end Supply chain and cost accounting understandingBuilding and using relationships across different functions and geographies

Experience / skills required:

Which skills and experience are we looking for?

5+ years of financial management and accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or fast paced & complex consumer goods environment.Four year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting is required; a professional accounting designation or MBA is preferred.Strong technical accounting, planning, analysis, reporting and systems expertise. SAP knowledge a plus.Excellent leadership, analytical and planning skillsShown ability to distill out complex business issues, provide logical, compelling, and clear plans for action.Requires excellent leadership and networking skills and ability to lead and influence organizational changes.Strong communication and presentation skills.
