This Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) position is responsible for providing insightful financial support for Private Bank and Private Wealth. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the management and forecast of an entire business unit’s P&L and Balance Sheet. This is a small BUT high impact team that is constantly challenging processes to create efficiencies focused on driving positive business outcomes and supporting leadership’s vision. This requires close partnership with key leaders and supports an area of strategic importance for the firm. The successful candidate will work with various teams within the organization to ensure the integrity of the financial forecast within CFG’s CFO framework and will be encouraged to seek out ways to transform the way the finance team supports the business as it matures. This candidate will be part of an exciting journey and team charged with establishing routines, financial reporting and building various financial analyses to support ongoing strategic decisions to grow the Private Bank.
Primary responsibilities include:
+ Managing the reporting and forecasting processes for the Private Bank and Private Wealth, including month end and quarter end close, monthly financial reviews, and rolling forecasts
+ Building the financial story for monthly business and performance reviews through analyzing financial performance, including variance analysis, to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Review explanations of variance for sufficiency, clarity, and value
+ Developing and delivering analyses that demonstrate the value of the Private Bank business to the overall bank
+ Partnering with the Finance team to identify and drive process improvements, including management / organization of metric data, and creation of standard and ad-hoc reports
+ Assist in the development of financial strategies and business cases for new initiatives and investments
+ Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects as needed
Qualifications
+ 3+ years’ experience in financial analysis including the ability to perform rate\volume\mix analytics from balance sheet and revenue accounts; experience in banking is preferred
+ High level of attention to detail and accuracy, with strong organizational and time-management skills
+ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
+ Strong communication and partnering skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and partners
+ Demonstrated ability to think deeply and understand the big picture, while working through the details required to ensure accountability for results
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, & Word; skills with query logic such as SQL and PowerQuery desired
+ Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting required or Science/Engineering/Math with 3+ years of relevant experience
