Finance Manager

The Consumer Home Equity Finance organization serves as a trusted advisor for the Citizens Home Equity business, providing both strategic and tactical financial support. We are seeking a Finance Manager who will be a key member of the Consumer Home Equity Finance team, responsible for providing financial guidance to leaders and partners, and enhancing the financial tools, analyses, and processes we use to deliver the strategic priorities of the business. This job is a foundational opportunity to deepen the colleague’s knowledge of the growing $14 Billion Home Equity balance sheet and the finance processes at Citizens, with the goal of continuing to advance and develop the individual in the organization.

This role can be based in Johnston, RI; Westwood, MA; or Newark, DE.

Specific responsibilities include:

Providing decision support, such as: 

Analyze financial data, maintain, and create financial models to monitor and forecast Home Equity balances and net interest incomeExamine trends in Home Equity Line of Credit utilization and potential impacts from the interest rate environment, macroeconomic factors, and internal business changesEvaluate past results, perform variance/attribution analyses, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvementsProduce reporting for monthly finance reviews and quarterly investor relations materialsPresent and discuss actuals and forecasts with business unit leadersCross-train with other areas within Home Equity Finance to provide back-up support and expand knowledgebaseSupport ad hoc analysis and business plans to justify and promote growth initiativesProviding tactical balance sheet support for the division:  Manage and enhance the budget, forecast, and strategic plan process for Home Equity balance sheet and net interest income activityManage the balance sheet monthly close process, including estimation and communication of preliminary results

Required Skills/Experience:

4+ years related experience providing Finance support, preferably in Consumer LendingStrong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal colleagues and partnersDemonstrated ability to think deeply and understand the big pictureExperience operating in a dynamic, fast-paced, professional environment. Must have the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities needing to be accomplished, work independently, and organize resources in order to achieve desired resultsStrong financial analysis foundation creating projections and modelsDetail oriented, diligent, with strong organizational and analytical skillsUnderstanding of current events and issues facing banks and financial services companies, particularly the economic and interest rate environmentStrong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skillsProficiency with financial databases such as Oracle Hyperion Essbase/Smart View

Education, Certifications, and Other Professional Credentials: 

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management or related field requiredMaster’s degree or other financial certifications preferred (MBA, CFA, CPA)

Hours per Week: 40 Hours

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday
