Finance Manager - GM Energy
Job Description

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center, Warren MI, three times per week, at minimum.

The Role

The GM Energy team works to empower EV drivers with seamless charging & energy solutions. As a finance function, the team interfaces with business partners on every step of the process from long-term planning to go-to-market strategies and manages the reporting of Actuals/Forecast, Budget, etc. There is opportunity to influence each part of the P&L (Revenue --> EBIT), as the team oversees those operations. 

What You'll Do

Assess and evaluate financial performance of supported business partner with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts

Support creation of yearly financial objectives that align with the business partner’s plan for growth and expansion

Prepare and may present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget, and cash flow

Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures

Maintain outstanding relationships with business partners

Develop talent / optimize team performance through stretch assignments, leadership exposure, career discussions, feedback, etc.

Lead by example displaying GM behaviors, commitment to personal development and commitment to creating a positive Workplace of Choice culture

Assist team with understanding the bigger picture and how projects relates to operational strategy / Enterprise goals

Anticipate partner needs (proactive vs. reactive)

Assist team in prioritization of workload, creating a picture to influence decision-making, facilitate collaboration across staffs, think through key analysis assumptions

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Responsibilities (Required Qualifications)

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related fields

Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience

Be self-motivated with ability to act autonomously in ambiguous situations

Effectively delegate, influence, and develop team of financial analysts with a focus on efficiency, data integrity, and operational improvements

Understanding of fundamental data analytics principles with ability to apply to day-to-day responsibilities

Liaise with Accounting to produce key financial statements and earnings support materials

Leverage sharp financial acumen to create insightful/ad hoc analyses to identify risks and opportunities in the business that executives can use to drive the business forward

A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge

Master's of Business Administration or similar advanced degree

Background in Automotive, Energy/Utility, or other applicable industries
