**Job Description**
Gilead Sciences is looking for a Finance Manager to join the R&D Finance FP&A, Development Functions Finance team in Foster City, CA. The Development Functions Finance Team supports multiple Development Functions within R&D organization, spanning across Clinical Operations, Clinical Data Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, and others.
This role is a hands-on individual contributor role, supporting the Development Functions Finance team. Individual will be a part of the R&D Finance Team and will directly support the Dev Functions FP&A org, which requires strong interactions with various stakeholders, including business partners and internal Finance colleagues. We seek an individual who will be responsible for day-to-day operations, month-end close, budgeting, and leading process-improvements projects.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Provide ongoing analytical support including preparing budgets and forecasts.
+ Prepare monthly reporting and variance analysis.
+ Provide input for continuous improvement in support of forecast cycles and monthly close processes.
+ Perform ad-hoc business analysis and preparation of documentation in support of R&D leadership and internal finance analysis.
+ Responsible for month-end close activities involving functional accruals, reclasses, prepaids and other journal entries.
+ Responsible for monitoring key performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unplanned variances.
+ Collaborate with other FP&A functions to ensure alignment of information, completeness, and timeliness of submissions.
+ Provide financial analysis to support tactical and strategic decision making for OPEX and HC.
+ Streamline and centralize data collection process through SAP functionalities and tools.

**Knowledge and Experience:**
+ BS/BA with 6+ years / or MS/MA with 4+ years of relevant experience in FP&A.
+ Strong verbal, visual and written communication skills.
+ Strong technical skills and interest in Financial Systems and Tools (including SAP).
+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Demonstrated problem solving and analytical abilities.
+ Experience in biotech, or pharmaceuticals industry a plus, but not required.
The salary range for this position is: $136,340.00 - $176,440.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
