Job Description:

Assist in maintaining the financial records by preparing accounting reports and statements, reconciling accounts, and processing/reviewing journal entries and vouchers in order to ensure smooth functioning of WV UCR Response Operations and provide quality service to the program, work closely with all relevant stakeholders.Provide financial management of Grants as well as assist in overall operations.

1-Local (Government) Reporting

Ensure Compliance with Local legislation, WVI and donor requirements. Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax, social security and other mandatory reports required by local governmental bodies. Support during the government audit-Ministry of finance audit

2-Accounting, Compliance & Monitoring

Ensure review of the source documents/ payment packages before processing the payments to ensure alignment with local legislation and WVI and donor regulations. Ensure accurate and timely financial data into the standard registers as required. Ensure payments are processed within 3 working days after complete supporting documents submitted to the Accounting Ensure all bank accounts balances are reconciled monthly Balance sheet accounts are reconciled and outstanding balances are justified with clear vision on when they will be cleared Process staff advances and ensure all submitted Employees Expenses Reports (EERs) are reviewed timely and there are no outstanding advances to the staff. Ensure proper coding while preparing the data entry vouchers Assist Supervisor in audit preparation to provide required documentation and respond to all auditors’ requirements in adequate manner Ensure a proper filing system for their payments and journals Reconcile the time sheet report on a monthly basis and follow up on missing and inaccurate codes Prepare all adjusting and re-allocation requested from Supervisor and Projects Managers Work closely with Shared Service Team to ensure coordination on procurement to Pay (P2P) and Record to Report (R2R) processes Preparation of funding requests in Global Treasury system

3-Perform other duties as required

Attend and participate in capacity building trainings on financial management Attend and participate in WVI spiritual nurture and other organizational events. Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting position with medium business/medium NGO/government agency

Experience with humanitarian aid in-country is a plus.

Degree or equivalent in accounting and finance or any relevant fieldPractical knowledge of financial basics.Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.Effective in written and oral communication in Romanian, working knowledge of English.Requires good computer skills (Excel, World, Spreadsheets).Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressureBasic understanding of business principles.Be organized, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.Requires good computer skills (Excel, World, Spreadsheets).Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressureBasic understanding of business principles.
