Finance Project Controller

Role description:

This is a business-facing role where the candidate interacts regularly with operations in a finance business partner capacity (challenge and build) and adds value to decision-making.

The Project Controller is a highly visible role, and so the candidate must be comfortable working across all levels of the business, including senior management.

Proper project information and correct accounting for revenue recognition across Arcadis Canada

Role accountabilities:

Create / set up / manage project structure in Oracle with the help of GSSC’s Checking and analyzing of project data extracted from Oracle and ensuring correct revenue recognition (POC%, cost, revenues, WIP, AR, backlog, foreseeable losses) You are constantly reviewing projects to find issues before they are issues. At month end if there are issues then you are already acting with CPM and know what the issue is. Conduct monthly Project Reviews with Project Managers to discuss project financials, billings projection and updated forecasts with challenge and build discussions Preparation and analysis of data and reports (monthly rolling revenue forecast, monthly pre and post close results for the respective business units and any other ad-hoc reporting as required) Managing of opportunity and risk schedule across projects portfolio Variance analysis of estimate vs. actual comparisons. Manage project finance related electronic filing processes and systems if required or assisting GSSC’s with this. Coordination of accounts receivable / billing with good understanding of tax and legal requirements related to billling Participate in risk management and risk mitigation activities Realizing efficiency and improvement in project finance and administration Monitoring of monthly compliance of project reviews submission in Oracle by Project Managers Risk management and internal controls experience Good communicative and social capabilities
