PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Greater China is a key market for SAP and a significant growth region for our business. The Chief Financial Officer Greater China is a member of the Greater China Management team. Reporting to the Regional CFO, Asia Pacific, the CFO of Greater China is accountable for the general administration of the finance and accounting function. This role is also responsible for ensuring effective and efficient deal support and Financial Planning and Analysis for the market unit.
He/she has a strong focus on direct engagement with key customers and partners. He/She will lead the Greater China Finance Team and orchestrates various GFA organizations (eg COE’s, Global Shared Service Centers, GCF, Controlling etc) to partner with the business in delivering business outcomes while balancing corporate stewardship. The GC CFO provides strong leadership and contributes to people management and talent development for all F&A colleagues, while championing the GFA Finance Transformation.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
In summary, the responsibilities are described below:
a) The CFO is a member of the Greater China Leadership team. The role reports to the Regional CFO, Asia Pacific. We see the CFO a
Partner with the GC Managing Director to lead the team into delivery on short term business goals and long term strategy of the market unit. Trusted advisor to the Greater China leadership team on core finance topics and business insights. Key steward of the regional business to safeguard and mitigate compliance risk.
b) He/she has managerial responsibility for the Greater China Field Finance employees with key responsibility in:
inspiring team members and creates a winning team provides local functional leadership to local teams of global internal organizations and act as the main interface for all parts of GFA (Shared Service Center, Chief Accounting Organization, COEs etc.) aligns the operational plans of these different functions for the Business Unit contributes to people management and talent development champion SAP GFA Finance Transformation agenda
c) He/she provides effective and efficient deal support including
proactive financial advice and oversight in contract negotiations and deal structuring for strategic opportunities to increase revenue and profitability effective and efficient deal support, based on relevant deal segmentation with the respective interaction to the Software Sales and Services Sales organizations orchestrating the commercial finance team to (Contracting, Revenue Recognition) or indirectly Pricing, Financing, Collections, Risk Management etc.)
d) Direct engagement with key customers & partners
executive sponsorship for identified customer accounts building strategic networks to showcase SAP portfolio to CFOs in the market which may include public speaking and sharing showcasing “SAP runs SAP”, “Simple Finance, “Innovative Solutions” as well as “Finance Transformation”
e) Accountability for financial planning & analysis
partnering closely with the business in leading the planning, budgeting and forecasting activities while providing strong analytical and management input (based on macro-economic, industry and internal data for the country/ market unit) provides proactive financial advice and solutions for strategic direction and insight on opportunities/process improvements to increase profitability and revenue and to identify efficiency and growth opportunities is actively involved in the implementation of the go-to-market processes and structures, supports the related financial planning as well as performance monitoring
f) Acts as the representative for governmental bodies and auditors
has overall accountability for “completeness” of IFRS and local GAAP books for GC establishes a collaboration routine and regular exchange with the corresponding Chief Accountant, including alignment on the processes, engagement model and escalation path
g) Ensures compliance and governance within the organization
acts as a voice of conscience of the company ensures compliance to safeguard trust and high reputation is responsible for any local adaptations of global policies and the local delegation of authority
h) drives key cross topic for the legal entities within Greater China region
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Bachelor or master degree in Business Administration Accounting/Finance, legal or related business background (Bachelor mandatory; MBA preferred) Ability to manage a large team in a matrix organization Strategic and analytical thinking Reliability and quality-oriented work Excellent negotiation and presentation skills Good cross-cultural skills
WORK EXPERIENCE
15+ years of functional experience in Finance/Commercial roles and 5+ years of management experience Controlling expertise Fluency in Mandarin and English is mandatory International experience
