Finance Services Sr. Analyst - Finance Business Partners

To perform Finance Business Partner onshore support in relation to the management reports, expenses trending and analysis, business units support via coordination with the business owners as deemed proper, assistance in forecasting and budgeting. The role will serve as the BU subject matter expert providing deep dive trainings and understanding of the BU supported, answer BU queries, rely information between onshore and GSSC as needed, review and approve journals and oversee the over-all month-end process.

Primary Responsibilities

• Strategy and Planning
•Contribute to the attainment of the team’s operating plan to maximize productivity and performance
•Provide recommendations on business improvement plans and strategies
•Recommend resolutions of issues being raised by onshore partners or by the business by coordinating with various stakeholder as needed.
•Policy, Process and Procedures
•Ensure all processes conducted are documented in a standard format and maintained in an accessible fashion
•Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve systems and procedures by recommending process improvement initiatives, adhere to the current business needs and other changes needed by the stakeholder.
•Resolve issues and concern outside of the standardized process by seeking support and assistance to various department applicable.
•Comply on provided legislations, industry codes, company policies and procedures
•Environmental Awareness and Customer Focus
•Establish and maintain an efficient or effective relationship with finance teams.
•Resolve daily issues and escalations, provide valuable contribution for their resolutions, and communicate information to the team to prevent further issues.
•Maintain good business relationship with onshore partners by gaining trust and confidence through quality of work, timely feedback and response.
•Technical Performance
•Ensure consistency and effective suite of reports e.g. general ledger and results provided to business enabling management to monitor business profitability
•Perform high complexity and urgent tasks like monthly expense reports, management commentaries, variance analysis and other reports presented to high level onshore business partners
•Responsible for the preparation of the monthly deliverables such as expense journal workings, reclassification of accounts, and management reports.
•Responsible for AU GSSC support in relation to Blackline Reconciliation and ATO returns such as Stamp Duty and BAS queries in case of any unusual/significant movement.
•Primary point of contact between AU onshore FBPs within GSSC. Filter queries answerable within GSSC and coordinate those that will require onshore assistance.
•People Management
•Provide technical expertise and role modeling to Sr. analysts, analysts and specialists.

Required Education

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Required Experience

• 5 years relevant experience

Preferred Competencies/Skills

• Strong skills in spreadsheets, data analysis, reconciliations and all other end to end accounting process.
•Advanced Problem solving skills and analytical skills
•Very good attention to detail for review and control purposes
•Excellent presentation skills
•Proficiency in MS tools especially in Excel
•Strong communication skills
•Can work as an individual contributor with minimal supervision from Service Manager or Team Leader

Preferred Experience

• 4 to 5 years in an accounting role, with preferably 2 to 3 years in management accounting, financial planning and analysis role
•Accounting, preferably CPA, CMA or CFA
•Insurance background an advantage

Preferred Licenses/Certifications

• CPA, CMA or CFA

Preferred Knowledge

• Fundamental knowledge of organizational accounting procedures
•Thorough understanding of Insurance accounting business in relation to business units being supported
•Knowledge of appropriate regulatory or statutory frameworks and how they impact on the insurance sectors
•Resourcefulness in providing solution to various business needs and adoptability to changing organization and industry environment
