Finance Support Assistant

The Service & Team:

The Finance support assistant role sits within Care and Wellbeing's Business Support Charging team. 

We enacted the councils financial responsibilities within the care act for Adult Social Care, and the council own Charging Policy.

 

The Role:

The Business Support and Administration Service provides essential support to frontline colleagues and service users with support teams managing on their behalf a wide range of financial duties including payment of invoices, generation of payment cycles, raising purchase orders and invoices, purchasing goods and services, administration of Nursery Education Funding and the reconciliation and monitoring of petty cash and vouchers. The role assists Support Officers, Team Leaders and Senior Managers with procedural implementation and monitoring of tasks providing a wide range of information to operational and management personnel in line with departmental and partnership agency policies and procedures.

We are currently looking for 3 x 12 Month fixed term position. 

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.                       

This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check. 

 

Working Pattern:

Mon - Fri Hours 08:45-17:15, 37 Hours per week 

 

What you’ll need to succeed:

The Charging Team work in a fast pace environment, this role requires knowledge of financial processes including: Invoicing, Credits, Purchase orders, and financial calculations. 

To succeed at the role, you will need to be adaptable to new processes and be able to work to tight deadlines and evidence this within your application. 

Knowledge of Mosaic and Oracle is desired but not essential, full training will be provided.
