Finance Systems Manager

The successful candidate will be the key leader responsible for operational and strategic management of the Financial Systems software portfolio and is accountable for the entire lifecycle of enterprise software, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of complex enterprise software solutions (cloud or on-premise). This role will actively manage a cross-functional team of system specialists and serve as the liaison between the Accounting, Finance, and Information Technology departments to ensure maximum utilization of all current and future licensed solutions and drive operational efficiencies across the enterprise. This role is responsible for identifying ways to make processes more efficient, offering continuous improvement recommendations and creating and delivering training to the finance and accounting teams.

What You’ll Do:

You will be the acting subject matter expert within the organization and provide functional consultation to senior management relating to capabilities of current applications, current and future use opportunities, break/fix and enhancements.

You’ll be knowledgeable of financial consolidation, eliminations, and reporting for monthly and quarterly closes.

You will recommend, initiate, and work on process improvements and/or system enhancements while ensuring the integrity of the data and processes.

You’ll help lead root cause analysis of system issues and manage remediation, including creating, working and managing Oracle Support service tickets and escalating support, as needed.

You will take the lead role on Accounting/Finance related system issues across the enterprise.

You’ll interact and partner with all levels of management to help drive collaborative business decisions.

You will translate strategy into specific priorities, objectives, and action plans.

You’ll ensure proper Audit and Internal Control procedures are followed for work performed by the team.

Lead all training efforts for the Accounting/Finance users in the various financial systems.

Lead all User Acceptance Testing, and regression patch testing to ensure changes made do not have adverse downstream effects to the financial systems.

You will stay abreast of relevant technology and new system enhancements, communicating important changes to relevant stakeholders and teams and make changes to team policies and processes as needed.

You’ll ensure all system documentation and procedures are updated and kept current.

You will provide leadership, management and direction to staff and prioritize and assign work based on appropriate skill sets. Mentor staff to increase system knowledge and allow for cross training. Establish performance expectations and conduct employee performance reviews.

You’ll provide backup coverage for staff during absences or busy times, as needed.

You will manage engagement and partnership with 3rd party providers of services and technologies, as needed.

You’ll participate in the strategic business planning and partner with business units and IT to formulate enhancement options to address specific functional issues / requirements.

What You’ll Need:

8+ years of relevant financial application support – preferred Oracle EPM, EDMC, ARCS, EPBCS, FCCS and PCMCS (including developing, implementing, modifying, project managing, and day-to-day administration).

BA/BS required in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related field.

MA/MS/MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Solid understanding of accounting concepts.

3 -5 years prior experience managing employees.

Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills including the ability to succinctly convey relevant information across multiple levels of the organization and confidently project a professional image that cultivates relationship building and collaboration.

Strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial competence.

Be results-oriented, able to anticipate change and respond to client priorities, while demonstrating a “can do” attitude.

Advanced proficiency in Python, MDX, Calc Scripts, Groovy or other programming languages required. Experience with PYCAF architecture is a plus.

Advanced proficiency with standard Windows PC software including the Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel. MS Access knowledge is a plus.

Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple deliverables and delegate appropriately to the team.

Willingness to work additional overtime and after hours as needed.

The starting pay range for this position is:

$142,300.00 - $189,200.00

Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
