Financial Account Manager

The Hillman Cancer Center (HCC) provides exceptional patient care as a world leader in understanding, preventing, and treating cancer through the integration of scientific discovery, clinical excellence, and community partnerships, while training the next generation of cancer experts. This position is a University of Pittsburgh role within the Fiscal Department of HCC.

Manages administrative and financial operations for Research Grants & Contracts and reviews and negotiates complex grants, contracts, and subcontracts. Reviews and reconciles financial and grant documents and ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. Prepares and negotiates complex budgets and related documents. Serves as a primary contact and resource regarding all aspects of research grants and contracts, updates databases and accounts, and develops and facilitates operational policies and procedures.

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center (HCC) Fiscal Department is seeking a skilled Post Award Manager. This role involves overseeing a team responsible for managing awarded grants, contracts, and clinical trials. The Post Award Manager will collaborate closely with other team leaders and staff within the HCC Fiscal Office to effectively monitor and track all post-award activities. This position reports directly to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center Assistant Director of Finance. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of grants and contracts and be able to meet rigorous deadlines. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Directing and coordinating a team of staff.Communicating and motivating effectively within a team environment.Ensuring compliance with guidelines and policies of various sponsoring agencies and the University, including monitoring project deliverables and milestones.Meeting demanding deadlines efficiently and effectively.Providing detailed explanations of analytical outcomes with resolutions and suggestions for improvement.Monitoring budget, invoicing, and payment schedules to ensure that projects are progressing as expected.Recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance post-award efficiencies.
