Kent is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant based in Iraq to administer the financial operations of our projects in Iraq. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strong accounting software skills and the ability to navigate the complexities of the local market. You will work closely with the finance team in Basrah, Iraq and our central finance team in Abu Dhabi, UAE to manage the companies financial operations

Processing : calculate salaries, deductions, and withholdings, process payrolls and liaise with the banks to ensure it is performed within deadlinesRecord keeping : maintain accurate payroll records and files, update general ledger and payroll systemsIssue resolution : resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiresReview of Bank charges deduction claim from employees to be considered in the subsequent payroll.Reporting : generate payroll reports for management reviewSupplier Management:
Assist with the onboarding of suppliers to the supplier platform.Within Oracle doing the 3-way match to ensure invoices are eligible for paymentPaying suppliers in accordance with the payment termsDealing with supplier queriesCoordinate with vendor for WHT pledge lettersPreparing reports for managementPetty Cash & Bank:
Petty cash custodianReview of petty cash requests before disbursement, updating petty cash register, requesting top-up as needed and preparation of GL entries to record petty cash transactions.Reconciliation of local Bank accounts and recording necessary GL entries.Accounting and reporting (AR/AP/GL):
Perform daily book-keeping requirements as neededRecording local vendor invoices in Oracle Fusion and processing payments.Recording client invoices in Oracle Fusion and allocating remittances.Adhoc GL entries as needed.Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management.Assist with the preparation of cashflow reportsMonitor cash flow, DSO and ensure liquidity.Audit & Compliance:
Assist with external and GCT / social security department audits.Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial policies.Ensure adherence to company financial policiesStaying informed about changes in local Iraqi tax and accounting regulations and communicating this to the greater teamTranslation of General Ledger to Arabic for tax filing purposes.In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.
