Financial Accounting Manager

Explore opportunities with us for a career in a supportive environment where you can learn and grow. **In this role, you will:** + Manage a team of individual contributors supporting significantly diverse and complex functional areas related to financial accounting + Manage directly or through a team, accounting activities for one or more groups within a line of business + Direct completion of complex accounting tasks pertaining to accounts, statements, systems and records + Set standards for monitoring the data provided and for preparation and review of financial statements and other documentation + Create and implement controls to ensure accuracy of data + Maintain advanced knowledge of current accounting practices and regulatory requirements + Enforce adherence to internal and external accounting principles and policies + Develop methodologies and implement changes for internal accounting systems + Plan, design and direct the production of financial and regulatory reports + Manage response and resolution to audit inquiries + Provide technical interpretation on various matters and a key change agent in building and adopting best practices within the functional area + Lead implementation of complex projects or initiatives impacting one or more lines of business + Understand and ensure compliance and risk management requirements are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives + Provide strategic consultation to more experienced leadership + Interact with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums + Manage a team of individual contributors, cross-functional or virtual teams + Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Enterprise Finance + Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent **Required Qualifications:** + 4+ years of Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education + 2+ years of leadership experience **Desired Qualifications:** + Experience in Global Contact Center (GCC) or Information Technology Business Process Outsourcing set-up including handling of BIR audits and tax assessments. + Experience in developing and delivering presentations at executive levels + Experience in conducting knowledge sharing of relevant tax laws and regulation + Graduate of Accountancy and equivalent courses with deep understanding of Finance, Accounting and local tax laws; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is required. MBA Finance would also be a preferred qualification. + 4+ years of Taxation, Regulatory compliances, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Financial Reporting, Accounting Reporting or Risk Reporting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education. + 2+ years of management experience **Job Expectations:** + Manage a team supporting large, complex functional areas related to financial accounting, reporting, regulatory compliance and taxation. + Work with management to establish companywide strategic plans and objectives, directing and controlling accounting & taxation, internal controls and reporting functions and activities + Act as the subject matter expert or final authority in specified accounting and taxation disciplines. Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on tax matters. Collaborate with other departments, such as legal, supply chain, human resources and operations to ensure alignment on tax matters + Provide technical interpretation on various matters and is essential in building and adopting best practices within the functional area + Interact with leadership to provide support and drive strategic initiatives for the business + Recommend compliance and risk management requirements for supported area and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives + Interact with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums. Lead and efficiently handle tax assessments initiated by regulatory agencies like Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) etc. + Lead a team of managers, consultants, cross functional or virtual teams in accomplishing goals + Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Enterprise Finance + Develop and lead tax strategy goals and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. + Provide tax planning and optimization advice, and audit of complex tax forms. + Manage tax provisioning and compliance processes and respond to tax demands for information. + Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, and ensure they are accurate and timely filed and paid. Conduct tax research and draft memoranda on tax issues relevant to the Branch. + Recommend tax considerations in key transactions/ contracts/ products etc., both domestic; and international, within the bounds of tax treaties + Manage relationships with external tax advisors and consultants. + Liaise with responsible Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) officials in line with the registration of new sites and application system. Coordinate with Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and/or Board of Investments (BOI) officials for the registration of new sites and application and validation of income tax holiday (ITH) + Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy + Expert in local taxation laws and its interpretation to business environment.
