Financial Aid Assistant
Occupational Summary: The Financial Aid Office Assistant supports the Financial Aid Office. This position assists students and families who visit the Financial Aid Office. This is a customer-facing position that requires a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to effectively communicate with students and other customers. Additionally, this position contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other faiths, cultures, or backgrounds. Work Performed: + Answer main Financial Aid phone line, directing calls as necessary. + Monitor the Financial Aid email account and respond to all inquiries. + Assist visitors with basic financial aid questions and document completion. + Schedule appointments for students and parents as needed. + Update, create, or cancel student aid files as necessary; log and scan all incoming documents. + Oversee and complete student communication flow, including document tracking and award notification. + Maintain student financial aid traffic flow statistics. + Update and maintain all financial aid documents. + Maintain and order all office supplies. + Complete all University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IX. + Contribute to the overall success of the Financial Aid Office by performing all other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position . Requirements: + High School Diploma is required. + At least 1 to 2 years of customer service and office experience. + Computer literacy, including the ability to learn and use appropriate software and web sites.  + Ability to work in busy office setting and handle frequent interruptions. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with organization, planning, decision-making, time management, and listening skills. + Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and right to privacy. + Must be legally authorized to work in the United States .
