Financial Analyst
Description We are looking for a skilled Financial Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in overseeing financial accounting and reporting for production and distribution activities. Your expertise will contribute to the accuracy of quarterly and year-end financial statements, as well as support compliance and audit processes. Collaborating across divisions, you'll ensure adherence to accounting standards while driving process improvements. Responsibilities: • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness for production and distribution business units. • Conduct quarterly and year-end variance analyses for balance sheet and income statements. • Manage production billings, accounts receivable aging, and tracking of payment receipts. • Act as a liaison between Production Finance and Corporate Treasury for film studio cash transactions. • Reconcile various accounts, including accounts receivable, prepaid assets, film inventory, and accounts payable. • Develop key financial reporting deliverables such as margin analyses and footnote disclosures. • Coordinate compliance, tax, and audit-related requests during quarter and year-end processes. • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance financial record accuracy and operational efficiency. • Support ad-hoc reporting and special projects requested by senior management. • Assist with invoicing and related financial tasks. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting or a related field. • 3-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in public accounting or entertainment • Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls. • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills to interpret financial data. • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration. • Ability to adapt quickly, manage competing priorities, and work independently. • Customer-service oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities. • CPA certification or candidacy preferred.
