Position Summary The position is responsible for the preparation of the operational and capital budgets for the organization. Additionally, is responsible for maintaining productivity and productivity benchmarking data. Prepares and coordinates the distribution of budget and productivity reports and analyses and provides related education. Minimum Qualifications Education Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Credentials HFMA certification preferred. Physical Demands Stand and/or walk occasionally. Sit constantly. Computer use constantly. Bend, stoop, and crouch occasionally. Reach floor to overhead frequently. Push and/or pull 10 pounds occasionally. Lift 50 pounds floor to 30 inches occasionally. Visual acuity, manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination within normal limits. Essential Functions Coordinates all Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement functions. These functions include all cost report preparation and reimbursement activities, including working knowledge of the cost report software.   Ability to develop working relationships and communication channels with outside entities, including the Medicare Fiscal Intermediary and the State Department of Health and Human Services.  Responsible for dealing with all governmental bodies to ensure compliance and resolve any issues that arise including but not limited to Medicare Cost Report Notices of Program Reimbursements (NPRs), reopening requests, amending cost reports, DSH surveys, Wage Index, and other duties as requested.  Maintains continuing knowledge of hospital Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement regulations and ability to develop hospital staff education when required on reimbursement issues.  Analyzes Medicare and Medicaid regulations potential impact on the hospital and hospital compliance with those regulations. Responsible for understanding, completing, and revalidating the Medicare 855s.  Assist with maintaining accurate statistical, demographic, clinical, and financial data for the cost accounting and decision support systems. Reviews department and hospital-wide data for reasonableness and completeness.  Responsible for the maintenance of the organization's productivity systems. Assist in the preparation of monthly productivity reporting, review and analysis to assist management in monitoring organizational productivity.  Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of the benchmarking system. Provides management with benchmarking reports on a quarterly basis.  Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
