As a member of the US Controllers organization, the incumbent will play a key role in supporting Life Insurance Companies Legal Entity Reporting team.
The position provides a challenging opportunity to learn more about various US Segment businesses, gain an understanding of operating environments and legal entity reporting requirements, play an integral role in fulfilling key deliverables, and work with seasoned professionals of accounting, audit, and financial reporting backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
Working independently to complete quarterly deliverables such as compilation of statutory exhibits and schedules, coordination and compilation of disclosures for Financial Statement Face Page and Board material, and account monitoring and quarterly account reconciliations for the Life Insurance Legal Entities including managing the process with business stakeholders.Annually, working independently to compile of certain statutory exhibits, footnotes, interrogatories, compliance filing requirements and historical data including managing the process with business stakeholders and external auditors.Assist the Controls Center of Excellence team with annual walkthrough of operational and actuarial processes, other assets and liabilities testing and journal entry testing including managing the process with business stakeholders and external auditors.Maintain strong process documentationIdentify process streamlining and automation opportunities, and influence actions to implementProvide prompt service to setup and evaluate financial reporting implications of any new products and initiativesOther duties include regulatory requests, process improvements and team projects as assignedQualifications:
Undergraduate degree concentrating in Accounting; CPA is an advantage3-4+ years of relevant accounting experience in progressive accounting roles, preferably in life insuranceHybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a night shift scheduleMinimum Skills to Hire/Must Haves:
Knowledge of accounting/ledger systems, tools (e.g., Essbase/Smartview) and financial reporting processes is an advantageAbility to work under tight deadlines, manage priorities, proactively investigate issues, troubleshoot, use judgment, and deliver timely and quality resultsStrong professional judgment, accountability, customer service, and eye for efficiency improvementsExcellent written and oral communication skills, analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and integrate with international team membersProficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications quicklyLet's make every day better together.
