FINANCIAL ANALYST

POSITION TITLE(S): Financial Analyst                   DATE: October 2024

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITES (SUMMARY)

The financial analyst reports directly to the Executive Director.  The financial analyst is responsible for the analysis of college financials, grant management, account reconciliations, and serves as the conduit between the college and Aultman Health Foundation’s finance liaison.  Responsibilities include the preparation of financial statistics and quality indicators working with multiple teams within the college and Aultman Health Foundation.  The analyst will coordinate the day-to-day planning, implementation, and evaluation all financial activities including managing the department budgets.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors Degree or higher in business, finance or other related field.  Master’s degree preferred Experience in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word, Access Experience with financial software, Lawson and Strata knowledge preferred.

Knowledge of principles and practices of business accounting and financials Must be results driven with demonstrated strengths and ability to balance multiple priorities Strong interpersonal skills Exercise discretion in dealing with confidential matters Effectively plan, organize, and prioritize work assignments to meet deadlines

 

PERFORMANCE MEASURES & STANDARDS

College Financials and Budgets Analyze period budgets and trends Prepare necessary monthly journal entries Prepare monthly financials Collaborate with corporate finance in regards to restricted funds activities and reports Assist with annual college budget; coordinating with each Director Maintain Strata budgets Reconcile accounts on the student education system (SONIS) and the Finance department system (Lawson) to ensure accuracy with all accounts Managing grant awards Scholarship reconciliation and annual awards

 

Reports/Communication Produce financial reports for reporting and analysis purposes Partner with corporate finance to ensure a success audit process Complete annual financial reports such as IPEDS, EZAudit, and HLC reporting

Understand data collection/reporting obligations Report on time and share information with appropriate director/ manager before submitting to IEC

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working conditions in office areas are good. Office activities may include extended time sitting and computer operation that may result in eye strain. Moderate levels of noise and constant interruption exist. Position requires much mental activity, study, reading and decision making. Physical demands are minimal and considered sedentary with occasional lifting and/or carrying of records, files and books -10 pounds maximum.

 

Occasional irregular hours
