Financial Analyst
Job Title: Financial AnalystJob Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Financial Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a keen eye for detail and an analytical mindset. This role involves assisting with the monthly close process, evaluating the impact of gross proceeds of sales on total trade spending, forecasting, and managing broker commissions. The position also requires updating and consolidating financial forecasts and supporting various P&L activities. Responsibilities + Assist with monthly close including compiling and preparing journal entries. + Evaluate the impact of gross proceeds of sales on total trade spending (TTS) and forecast TTS impact at a detailed level. + Calculate prior month actual exposure and compile journal entries for broker commissions. + Manage broker commission payment requests and adjust rates/customers within the Access database. + Assist in compiling rates and projecting broker commission for future activity and input rates into the Dodeca program. + Load broker commission rates into Dodeca. + Support Bottoms Up (BUP) and Dynamic Forecast by updating actual spend, estimating sales forecasts, and consolidating managers' BUP forecasts. + Upload TTS rates and support/analyze/upload various P&L rates into Dodeca, including bad goods, distribution allowance, cash discounts, trade-related expenses, and broker commission expense. + Process payments for trade-related expenses and prepare journal entries to book current activity to P&L monthly. + Prepare reclassification journal entries to reclassify expenses to product fixed marketing expenses. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. + Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data manipulation and pivot tables. + Experience with the monthly close process and financial analysis. + Proficiency in reporting and strategic direction. + Analytical skills and the ability to perform variance analysis. + At least 3 years of experience in a financial analyst role. + Experience running P&L and performing variance analysis. + Strong communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Access and/or SAP is a plus but not required. + Data-oriented and able to handle large amounts of data without getting overwhelmed. + Previous experience as an accountant involved in month-end close. + Understanding that the beginning of the month will be busy with long hours. Work Environment Training will take place in the office, followed by a hybrid work environment. The position requires proficiency with various technologies, including Microsoft Excel, Access, and potentially SAP. The work environment is fast-paced, especially during the monthly close process, and requires strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
