The School of Medicine has 30 academic departments and a total annual budget of $850million, 1,000 students, and 2,500 full-time faculty. This position has the opportunity to work in a Hybrid schedule that consists of 3 days On-Campus in the Oakland office and 2 days Remote each week. Candidate must be within commuting distance of the university to be considered.

The Financial Analyst will prepare and analyze faculty compensation data for the Office of Finance and Administration. This includes assisting in the daily management of faculty compensation, annual budget preparation, identifying variances in funding, and the preparation of data for ad hoc projects. Will work with the Faculty Compensation Manager to create faculty compensation protocols in the School of Medicine (SOM). This position will include but not limited to the following activities: Monitor faculty support that is being charged to accounts in the Dean's office. This includes following up with departments on new commitments to make sure SPARs are correctly updated. Review compensation distribution of current Dean's office commitments and communicate any variances from the expected amount. Prepare salary calculations for new Dean's office roles. Will also provide support in the management of dually employed faculty categories. Track the qualified support for category C faculty and bring to attention any that are not meeting the qualifications for category C. Work with departments to collect information required to move faculty to category D. This includes assisting departments in determining the correct hours and compensation for the category D template. Will complete data collection for dual faculty position budget management. Will monitor the dual faculty 04 accounts and update information monthly to provide an accurate forecast of the accounts. Assist in tracking the dual faculty rosters and provide information to assist in the approval of new offers and compensation changes. This can include the tracking of open positions, unfilled backfill position, and the budgetary impact of faculty category changes.
