The Analyst will report directly to the Senior Manager, Investment Finance and will be responsible for the accounting, reporting, compliance and analytics. Additionally, the Analyst will provide transaction support for the assigned portfolio of Infrastructure assets and the Infrastructure Strategic Partnership Program (SPP) Track Record. The Analyst will ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial records for all investments and establish a close working relationship with other members within the Finance, Tax, Legal and Deal teams.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn new tools and processes, as well as handle multiple tasks, often working within tight deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity to enhance basic professional skills, strengthen business acumen, develop an understanding of investment reporting, portfolio analytics as well as exposure to the infrastructure investing environment.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Financial Reporting & Analytics
Prepares journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the financial reporting process with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation;
Create monthly and year-end working papers with appropriate analysis and supporting documentation for annual financial reporting and audit purposes;
Prepares schedules and reports requested by Investment Operations and Corporate Financial Reporting;
Calculate various performance return information;
Calculate and present various financial metrics associated with the SPP Track Record;
Prepares variance analysis on financial data;
Prepares quarterly/annual financial statements, with covenant ratio calculations as required;
Assists with the development and implementation of budgets and forecasts;
Assists in accounting research and finance issues as assigned and provides summary reports;
Assists with tax filings when required;
Cash Management
Prepares funding requests and wire instructions for transfers of cash between bank accounts on a timely basis;
Assists with cash forecasting and accounts payable activities;
Compliance
Prepares regulatory reports including reports to Statistics Canada, U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis, and CRA;
Other duties
Acts as back-up to cover duties of other team member(s) in relation to the Infrastructure portfolio; and
Other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.
To succeed in this role, you have:
University degree in Business or related discipline;
Enrolment in the CPA designation, successful completion is preferred;
Good understanding of IFRS, knowledge of pension accounting is an asset;
Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects, ability to learn in a short period of time;
Strong analytical skills and results oriented;
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel;
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately (both verbal and written);
Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness is very important along with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently;
Ability to meet tight deadlines and to manage conflicting priorities
