Financial Analyst
If you are detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to navigate complex financial systems while ensuring compliance with government regulations, KBR is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst / Project Controls Specialist (Secret Clearance) to join our team in Cherry Point, NC . In this role, you will manage project finances, track government funding, and ensure compliance with contract requirements. You’ll collaborate with project teams to ensure budgetary compliance, develop financial reports, and support contract execution, maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and timely reporting.
Due to the nature of the role, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an active/current DoD Secret Clearance . You should also have at least 4 years of related experience . The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office, with preferred experience in Costpoint , COGNOS , COBRA, and Deltek , and an understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) .
RESPONSIBILITIES :
+ Budget Monitoring & Financial Planning: Review and reconcile budgets against actual performance, ensuring all obligations and expenditures stay within fiscal benchmarks. Prepare Spend Plans for all product, labor, software, hardware, and license procurements, and develop comprehensive project budgets and schedules to meet contractual requirements.
+ Reimbursable Funding & Project Coordination: Coordinate the execution of reimbursable funding, ensuring Project Leads and JPO BFMs have detailed requirements for reconciliation. Work closely with KBR Program Managers to ensure appropriate funding allocations and smooth project execution.
+ Financial Reporting & Analysis: Create executive-level budget briefs, track revenue, monitor expenses (direct and indirect), and calculate profit. Prepare financial reports, including monthly cost and subcontract analysis, and provide recommendations to PMs and Project Leads.
+ Contract Deliverables & Compliance: Coordinate and submit all contract deliverables in a timely manner . Ensure compliance with internal policies, FAR, SOX, CAS, and other government regulations, and support the contracts team in processing MIPRs, signed acceptance, and contract modifications.
+ Invoice Accuracy & Payment Management: Ensure invoice accuracy prior to submission, monitor unbilled status, and work with billing teams to ensure timely payments. Reconcile CostPoint and Task Order/Project data, managing man-hours , materials, ODCs, and travel expenses.
+ Financial Oversight & Estimates: Participate in cost proposal preparation, manage Estimates to Complete (EACs), track project revenues, and advise Contracts when to submit Limitation of Funds letters. Develop and monitor Annual Operating Plans and provide variance commentary for assigned contracts.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a US Citizen. Must have an active/current DoD Secret Clearance .
Education & Experience : BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting , or a related field from an accredited US College/University/Institution and 4+ years of experience.
Software Expertise: Microsoft Office Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
+ Costpoint/COGNOS/ Deltek /COBRA experience preferred.
+ Earned Value Management (EVM) experience preferred
Workplace setting: This is a hybrid remote position - on-site work performed in Cherry Point, NC.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours /week
Compensation: $ 94,000 - $120,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
