The Financial Analyst will support the Theme Park and CityWalk Retail team through finance deliverables including the following: daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, Budget/ Long Range Plan (LRP)/ Latest Estimate (LE) cycles, and ad hoc analysis.  Will be assigned the specific tasks as the new hire will go through the training of all of the below responsibilities as seen fit. Responsibilities: Revenue: + Analyze Per Cap (spending per guest) drivers by the venue, dept, and IP on a weekly and monthly basis + Accurate completion of monthly Position Updates on trend + Validate Daily, WTD, MTD, and YTD Per Cap / Revenue against multiple systems + Support month-end close process by completing and posting Journal entries for Revenue load factors including Concessionaire, third party venues, and its revenue shares + Ad-hoc revenue analysis as requested Cost of Goods Sold (COGS): + Analyze COGS drivers by venue, dept, and IP on a weekly and monthly basis + Partner with Universal Parks & Resorts (UPR) to gain insight on COGS build for Budget and LE + Accurate completion of monthly Position Updates and Pacing based on trend + Validate Daily, WTD, MTD, and YTD COGS rate against multiple systems + Support month-end close process by completing and posting Journal entries for COGS load factors including Slow Moving & Obsolete (SLOBS), Freight, Shrink and Royalties + Ad-hoc COGS analysis as requested Variable Labor: + Analyze labor cost drivers by the venue, rate, and hours on a weekly and monthly basis + Track open/close and its impact on labor cost and assist the Retail operation team to adjust labor matrices + Provide financial perspective to operational needs and understand monthly variances against budget and LEs + Partner with operators to build annual budgets considering historical trends, while understanding the impact of new projects + Ad-hoc Variable Labor Analysis as requested Operating Expenses (OPEX): + Maintain accurate monthly operational checkbooks for administration and visual teams to track operating expenses + Track project timing against budget and identify offsets; Reforecasting timing, as needed + Provide financial perspective to operational needs and understand monthly variances against budget + Partner with operators to build annual budgets considering historical trends, while understanding impact of new projects + Ad-hoc OPEX Analysis as requested FP&A function: + Prepare month-end close P/L statements, update Position Update file with actuals.  + Communicate Retail Operation performance to USH Finance FP&A team through various tools, including and not limited to Position Update file and BPC. + Assist for preparation of LE/Budget presentation ADHOC: + Other Adhoc analysis requests from operators + Special projects as needed + Partner with operations to deliver useful insights Qualifications/Requirements + Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, preferred + Some experience in Finance + Excellent written and oral communication skills + Strong communication and team player who enjoys working with multiple business partners + Technical proficiency in utilizing multiple systems to extract and report data + Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment + Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
