Job Description
Overview:
The Financial Analyst performs a variety of complex duties related to the preparation, analysis and reporting of financial and operational information including data management for the land development division. The information and analysis reported will be used in business planning and forecasting, investment analysis, treasury analysis and contribute to the formulation of key strategic decisions.
Key Deliverables:
Responsible for the analysis and presentation of the annual business plan as well as monthly and quarterly forecasts to external partners or internal leadership teams. This includes (but is not limited to); reviewing regional submissions of business plan and providing analysis, preparing center-led business plan reporting packages, consolidating regional business plan submissions, providing overall business group analysis on cash flow and income estimates.Assist in the management of data from multiple source systems to enable a centralized reporting framework. This includes managing data flow and translations that occur at a database level and evaluating coding of transactions to ensure consistent reporting across the organization.Responsible for the design of various models (along with other team members) to provide the basis of automated business planning-and forecasting tools.Evaluate and improve processes to increase accuracy and efficiency of outputs.Responsible for assisting on various components of ad-hoc transactions as they arise which would including; Joint Venture Partner reporting requests, corporate and/or asset level cash flows and other financial diligence around equity and/or debt instruments.What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics3+ years of related professional experience in financial analysis, accounting, investment banking or a related fieldSound accounting knowledge and clear understanding of relationships between various financial statements and performance metricsStrong analytical skills as well as familiarity with financial modeling and discounted cash flows.Experience evaluating workflow processes and identifying/implementing improvements.Advanced skillset in ExcelExperience in real estate would be an advantageAvailable to work flexible work hours, including evenings or weekends at critical times for the business (e.g. quarter end and yearly business planning)Experience in working with large data sets and/or managing data at a database level - VBA, Access, or SQL experience a plusAvailable to travel to our offices throughout Canada and the United States (5% or less)What We Offer:
