**Job Summary:**
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Associate Director, Finance Admin Operations, the Financial Analyst develops, analyzes, and conducts financial analyses to assess the viability of financial plans and programs, under occasional guidance. Develops financial statements, compensation analyses, financial packages, and presentations for various projects. This position frequently interacts with Finance leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and to assess operational performance.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
• Creates annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for Office of Finance Operations.
• Assists with the month end close process, including review of monthly expenses, and provides feedback on accruals or accounting adjustments to ensure accuracy of the financial statements.
• Works closely with HR and Finance leadership to conduct compensation analyses.
• Provides guidance to managers throughout Finance related to position management and productivity.
• Develops projections to model the financial impact of programs and projects.
• Designs, develops, and modifies financial forecasting models. Accumulates and analyzes data from existing or established databases.
• Analyzes, accumulates, and reviews data for financial reports. Conducts technical research and prepares synopses on operating budget variances.
• Assembles data and compiles drafts, outlines and graphic materials for financial presentations. Coordinates efforts of work group.
• Analyzes future trends and indicators related to Finance operations. Reviews data to analyze trends affecting budget needs.
• Occasionally works with Finance leaders, procurement, and legal to execute vendor contracts related to consulting, temporary staffing, or outsourced work.

**TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES**
• Accounting and Finance (Intermediate): Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP) necessary for month / year end close of financial statements and monthly analysis of operating performance.
• Project Management (Intermediate): Planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
• Problem Solving (Intermediate): Uses critical thinking and process improvement to describe current state, identify root causes, create future state, and develop solutions and action plans with a sustainability plan. Applies appropriate tools to address issues.
• Financial Analysis (Intermediate): The process of evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, etc. to determine their performance, stability and profitability.
• Written Communication (Intermediate): Demonstrates the ability to write clear, detailed, and comprehensive status reports, memos and documentation. Demonstrates an understanding of effective composition, such as having first line in a paragraph state the subject.
• Communication of Results (Intermediate): Communicates results and recommendations to customers in a concise and non-technical format. Clearly states implications and potential next steps. Presents analysis, ideas, and findings using the appropriate data visualization and presentation tools [such as Word, Excel, Tableau, and PowerPoint].
